Last night I came to the realization that I am in an abusive relationship. I’ve been beaten, bitten, pinched, kicked, and had my hair pulled repeatedly. In the past week I’ve had my lip busted twice and have a knot on my forehead. I am the object of screaming and yelling.
The problem is that I cannot get out of this relationship. I can only hope that my abuser will someday realize that these methods of communication are not conducive to a loving relationship. Until then, I will continue to shower love and affection on my attacker.
My abuser is my 15 1/2 month-old daughter. Is this the beginning of the terrible twos?

Well I have a sassy 3 year old that seems to be going through some of the same things. Although, I have been spared the hitting I can see it in her eyes that she would love to haul off and whack me one!
We missed the terrible two's, but no one bothered to tell me that the threes are WAY worse than the twos. Hang in there, hon. Focus on her sweet smile to help get through the temporary nastiness.
I, too, keep hearing that the threes are worse than the twos. So far, our house has been OK. Just snarkiness. No biting or punching and such.
Just hang in there! Bite or pinch her back, if you must. That's the only way she'll learn that it hurts.
The terrible twos are so cute when it's somebody else's kid! Actually, kids are only cute when they're somebody elses!
And you wonder why I only have cats??? ^-^
one of many phases..it will pass.
Welcome to the motherhood of a toddler! It will get better .... someday!
